Yisel and Brigitte Flores had a smooth trip back on March 10, after Brigette's open heart surgery here in Boston on Feb. 9. The connection in Miami was easy since they arrived and left Miami from the same concourse. On December 10, 2008, Jhon Garcia, our 12 year old from Ecuador, had open heart surgery at CHB with Dr Bacha. This was extremely complicated. Transposition of the great arteries and a hole in his heart. He had surgery when he was 4 yrs old and again last year in Barcelona. In Barcelona they attempted the surgery that we did here ( Rastelli) but stopped and did something else that did not help and made it much more difficult for Dr Bacha to do what he wanted to.
This was an 8 hour surgery but we got the result that we wanted. Jhon is good for life. No additional surgeries needed. Thank God we were at CHB with Dr Bacha. Jhon came out of CICU Sat and may be discharged now or soon.
